When you see as many miles as a Subaru owner does, you're bound to have a few exciting, heartwarming, or just plain interesting stories to tell. Subaru is known for changing and helping people when they need it. Here are some those special stories.

"When I retired from the MN Department of Natural Resources, my wife Mary, Labrador Bridger, and I headed out in our Outback toward Bozenman, Montana to ski and party in this beautiful college town in the mountains.  Our son Josh, his wife Betsy, baby Grace, and Weimeraner Sage, made the same trip in their Outback, forging their way through negative 30 degree temperatures and blowing snow. Not to miss a party, Betsy's parents jumped in their Outback and climbed over the snowcovered pass from Kalispell, MT. This is one extended family that loves and depends on their Subaru's."

"11 Subaru Foresters from all around the U.S. and one from Canada gathered to drive the legendary "Tail of the Dragon" US129, which boasts 318 turns in 11 miles along the Tennessee and North Carolina border. We had a great time taking the twisties in our Foresters and celebrated the friendships that were created by our common love for our uncommon Foresters!"

"My son, Mike, and daughter-in-law, Nicole, live in Savannah, GA.  They loaded up in their 2011 Legacy with their 22 month old ,Sellie, and their Beagle, Titus, for a week visit in Lafayette, LA with us.   They hit every heavy rain storm on the way here.  Thankfully, they were in the Legacy.  Mike acted like the weather was clear all the way here.  Thank you Subaru, for allowing a family seperated by so many miles able to see each other no matter what."

"When I was one, my mother's dear old '78 Subaru wagon finally died.  Being a Subaru lover, she promptly went to the nearest dealer and bought a '97 Legacy Wagon.  Sixteen years later, I inherited this car (as she now owns a 20110 Outback).  Driving to watch my best friend graduate, I rounded a corner in the pouring rain only to find a big truck towing a trailer in my lane.  I swerved to avoid it and slid into the ditch.  Then, I over-corrected and slid off a hundred foot hill.  When the cops arrived, they found me badly shaken but amazingly, unhurt.  My car had hit a tree, then rolled twice, and finally came to a rest against a barbed-wire fence in a horse pasture.  I was told that I was lucky to be alive but that my car was most likely totaled and that a tow truck was needed.  After an hour of trying to get to it with a towrope, they realized that approach wasn't going to work.  We went out on a limb, and decided to try and start my car.  To everyone's surprise, my little trooper drove away from that accident.  Without even a bruise, I have Subaru to thank for my life."

"I put my Baja to work for post-disaster volunteer work after the tornados recently struck here in Tuscaloosa, AL.  Wanting to help those less fortunate, I made my way through neighborhoods to deliver bags of ice and water to tornado victims at ground zero.  People were so glad to get help and even stopped to comment, 'What a geat little truck!'"
